Otto Monroy's Fellowship Experience
My fellowship focuses on personal learning on a topic I am highly interested in - how nonprofits can utilize earned revenue for more sustainable operations. I have done extensive reading and a number of interviews including virtual and a trip to Atlanta. Most notably I traveled to LA to attend the Homeboy Global Network conference where social enterprise leaders gathered. I was able to see the Homeboy model in action and talk with several key leaders. I also had a chance to get a little time for personal reflection while taking a day traveling and hiking on Catalina Island off the West Coast. I still have one more trip to take to continue to explore this topic and learn before the end of the year. In the process of planning that.
