Meagan Given Leaves WRLI after 7 Years
The board of directors of the White Rose Leadership Institute (WRLI) has accepted the resignation of Meagan Given as Executive Director at the end of September after more than seven years of leadership. Given has led the organization to unqualified success through its signature programs: Give Local York and the York Federal Fellows.
White Rose Leadership and Give Local founder and former board member Bob Pullo credits Given for establishing the organization's "exceedingly high profile across all of York County." He said her "passionate dedication and personal talent as an organizer" brought together 323 nonprofit organizations come together in May for the seventh annual Give Local York fundraiser, which has raised $25 million since its inception, including nearly $5.3 million this year.
White Rose Leadership Institute Accomplishments:
Give Local York won Central Penn Business Journal's Nonprofit Innovation Award in 2018.
In 2022, Give Local York won GiveGab's Spark Award, out of 100+ giving days. The Spark Award is given in recognition of a Giving Day leader who sparks outstanding community engagement.
In 7 years, Give Local York has raised $25 million dollars for more than 450 nonprofits, increasing the community’s fundraising efforts by 256%.
Led York County nonprofit community through the COVID-19 pandemic and served as the voice of the nonprofit community's funding needs throughout the crisis. Give Local York 2020 saw an increase in donations by 45%, the largest jump in program history.
Implemented Anti-Hate policy requirement for Give Local York participation.
Implemented the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) to establish a baseline of intercultural competency among York County nonprofit leaders and York Federal Fellows.

Given York was a York Federal Fellow in 2019 and Leadership York: Nonprofit Leadership Academy Class of 2019. She has served on the boards of directors for the County Convention and Visitors Bureau, York Academy Regional Charter School, and the York Day Early Learning Center. She received the Central Penn Business Journal 40 under 40 award in 2016. She is a member of the Women’s Giving Circle, the Rotary Club of York, and the Appell Center for Performing Arts Audience Development Committee.
